Aitken Spence Travels celebrates International Women’s Day with an inspiring panel discussion

A girl, sister, wife, mother and more, women play significant different roles in each stage of their lives.

International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8th every year and is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.

In a bold and progressive move, Aitken Spence Travels, an organization proud of its 90 female staff members, orchestrated a remarkable program to commemorate International Women’s Day. The event aimed to enlighten and empower the women within the company, shedding light on the pressing social issues faced by women worldwide and equipping them with the knowledge to tackle these challenges head-on.

The commemoration took the form of a captivating panel discussion that left a lasting impact on all who attended. Adding a crucial legal perspective to the conversation was the esteemed WSSP Mrs. Lanka Rajini Amerasekara, the trailblazing first female administrative director of the Sri Lanka Police. With her wealth of experience and real-life examples of discomfort faced by women, she educated the audience on important rules, regulations, and procedures to overcome the same.

Joining Mrs. Amerasekara was the charismatic Mrs. Rasini Bandara, a renowned psychologist and motivational speaker from Mind Heals Pvt Ltd. With her exceptional oratory skills in both English and Sinhala languages, Mrs. Bandara took the audience on an emotional journey, captivating their hearts and minds. Her relatable examples and profound insights left everyone feeling a surge of empowerment and inspiration. The discussion centered on the theme of “you as a woman,” resonating deeply with each attendee and instilling a sense of self-belief and strength.

The event transcended mere celebration; it became a transformative experience that reinforced the importance of unity and solidarity among women in the travel industry. Aitken Spence Travels, through this remarkable initiative, demonstrated its commitment to fostering a supportive and empowering environment for its female workforce.

As the echoes of the panel discussion reverberated through the halls, a powerful message resounded: women in travel possess an indomitable spirit, and when united, they have the ability to shape their destinies and influence the world around them. Aitken Spence Travels, by championing their cause, has set an example for others to follow, paving the way for a future where women’s voices are heard, respected, and celebrated.
